System KAN-therm Ultraline

System KAN-therm ultraLINE consists of two types of plastic pipes. Homogeneous in the construction, where there are no other additional materials or elements. Among them, there are pipes made of cross-linked polyethylene PEXCc and PEXCa, as well as pipes made of PERT² ethylene co-polymer material with increased thermal resistance. All pipes are equipped with anti-diffusion barrier EVOH which protects the system against penetration of oxygen into it. Uniform pipes are available in diameters of 14-20 mm. The second alternative are multilayer pipes. Apart from polyethylene, an additional layer of aluminium was used in their construction, which is why they are described as PERTAL² pipes or colloquially referred to as “alupex pipes.” In this case, protection against penetration of oxygen into the pipeline is the layer of fully sealed, laser-welded aluminium. Multilayer pipes are available in a diameter range of 14-32 mm. Both types of pipes can be combined with the use of KAN-therm ultraLINE fittings made of PPSU or brass. The connection is made with the use of a special KAN-therm ultraLINE sliding sleeve made of PVDF material using the axial clamping technique, commonly used as a sliding sleeve.

By selecting a specific type of pipes offered by the system, we can obtain two different, complete technical solutions referred to as System KAN-therm ultraLINE PE or the System KAN-therm ultraLINE PEAL .

The structure and type of pipe material of KAN-therm ultraLINE PE and AL systems guarantee full resistance to high temperature Tmax.=95°C and pressure P=10 bar and thus give full versatility of both solutions. System KAN-therm ultraLINE can be successfully used both in standard indoor heating and domestic water systems as well as in more advanced technical and industrial systems such as compressed air.

Why KAN-therm ultraLINE PE?

System KAN-therm ultraLINE PE utilizes plasticity of multilayer pipes (25x2.5, 32x3) when laying main distribution pipes with simultaneous application of homogeneous uniform polyethylene pipes (14x2; 16x2.2; 20x2.8) for housing distributions. All of those are connected with the O-ringless design of a fitting and use of a connecting technique with a sliding sleeve.

This solution is dedicated to professionals who appreciate polyethylene pipes with shape memory function and their greater resistance to permanent deformation of the cross-section, e.g. creases caused by a temporary activation of a large load on the outer surface of the pipe. It is the optimal solution for servicing multi-family housing, public utility, industrial and in every place where many different installer teams work together, increasing the risk of accidental damage to the installed pipeline.

The ability of self-compensation of pipelines made of uniform polyethylene pipes additionally protects the system against the effects of its thermal work, guaranteeing its long failure-free operation.

Reduction in the number of some fittings necessary to change the direction of the pipeline, e.g. the elbows, and reducing the number of profiling and anchoring the pipe elements due to the lack of excessive pressure are the plastic properties of multilayer pipes with diameters of 25 and 32 mm.

Why KAN-therm ultraLINE PEAL?

In the entire diameter range of 14-32 mm, KAN-therm ultraLINE PEAL system uses the properties of multilayer pipes and the O-ringless design of fittings using connections with a sliding sleeve technique.

Due to these features, the system works well in the case of sacred and historic investment projects where it is often impossible to hide pipes and fittings in the walls or floors. The system is destined for single-family housing, guest houses or car workshops, for example.

Lack of pipe stiffness occurrence and the possibility of freely deciding the final shape are the main advantages emphasized by the professionals using so-called Press systems. KAN-therm ultraLINE PEAL System is a benefit for the professionals. Guaranteeing current comfort of work with the use of multilayer pipes, KAN-therm ultraLINE PEAL provides them with an additional, very important argument - O-ringless and extremely durable connection.

The significantly reduced thermal elongation of multilayer pipes is an important advantage in the case of need for surface-mounted installation. Owing to the stabilizing function of the aluminium layer, the occurrence of the pipeline sagging between its fixing points is significantly reduced and its aesthetics is improved. Lower elongation of the pipeline also means fewer additional elements necessary to perform system compensation.

Innovative stopper at the end of the ultraLINE fitting connector stub secures against the uncontrolled contact of the brass surface of the fitting with the aluminium layer in the construction of the multilayer pipes. Thanks to this protection, a potential risk of contact corrosion at the joint between brass and aluminium was eliminated.

The combination of a connection technique with a sliding sleeve, using the process of expanding the pipes end, with a special bevelled connector stub of the ultraLINE fitting, minimizes the occurrence of narrowing the diameter at the place of their connection. Such specificity of the connection ensures significant reduction of local pressure drops and reduces the occurrence of fluid flow disturbances.

Symmetric design of the sliding sleeve is another advantage of the ultraLINE system. Owing to this solution, the comfort and safety of installation has been improved. A installer does not have to wonder and watch how the sleeve should be set when making connections. This feature eliminates the risk of mistakes and increases the comfort of work with the product, especially in difficult building conditions. Solid structure and high-quality material which the sliding sleeves were made of guarantee a very high resistance to mechanical damage. KAN specialists checked and tested this property in the most difficult laboratory conditions.

270° assembly is a particularly useful feature for the installers. Many years of experience in the production but also the assembly of installation systems was the main reason for the development of a completely new construction of the body of ultraLINE fittings. Their specially thought out form allows for very easy and convenient work of tools, even in places the most difficult to access. Very wide angle of the tool forks access to the fitting is a unique feature of System KAN-therm ultraLINE – install at angle of up to 270°!
