KAN-therm surface heating/cooling systems

For the surface heating and cooling systems installed with wet or dry embedding methods, the KAN-therm system range includes several complete solutions.

The KAN-therm Tacker system is a solution which uses special thermal insulation in the form of polystyrene panels with a permanently bonded, metallised or laminated plastic film, and a grid pattern printed on the panels to facilitate the arrangement of heating or cooling loops with specific spacing (the grid mesh is 5 cm).

The embedding of the pipes in the thermal insulation layer is done using special tacks applied with the Tacker tool.

The KAN-therm Profil system is a solution which uses thermal insulation with a specifically engineered structure. The KAN-therm Profil polystyrene boards have dimples between which the heating or cooling loop pipes are pressed and secured. As a result, additional components and tools are no longer required to secure the piping.

Below is a detailed cross-section of an underfloor heating/cooling system conforming to PN-EN 1264 Type A1 structure, installed with a wet method using KAN-therm Tacker system components.

Both of these products, the KAN-therm Tacker system and the KAN-therm Profil system are intended for construction underfloor surface heating/cooling systems.

The KAN-therm TBS system is an-end-to-end solution which consists of the TBS, or grooved thermal insulating polystyrene panels, and special metal fins (radiators). Underfloor heating or cooling based on the KAN-therm TBS system panels is intended for dry floor building methods with PN-EN 1264 Type B structure. The heating piping is laid inside of profiled/grooved EPS panels and covered with dry screed panels the thickness of which is specified according to the design operating loads applied to the flooring surface. The heat from the heating pipes is transferred uniformly to the dry screed panels, through the steel radiator fins placed in the panel grooves.

With the KAN-therm TBS system components, underfloor or wall surface heating or cooling systems can be installed with light, dry embedding methods.

The KAN-therm Rail system is a technical solution which provides for the installation of surface heating or cooling pipes with dedicated Rail profiles made of plastic. These can be attached directly to the partition surface, which is screed, or to thermal insulation. The Rail profiles are also commonly used for the installation of outdoor surface heating and cooling systems.

However, the most common application for the Rail profiles is in wet-embedded wall surface heating or cooling systems.

The KAN-therm Wall system is a ready-made heating and cooling panels designed for building wall and ceiling surface heating or cooling systems with dry embedding methods. The KAN-therm Wall system includes gypsum-fibre panels with milled grooves and polybutylene (PB) or polyethylene (PE-RT) pipes with a diameter of 8×1 mm placed inside, forming part of the KAN-therm system. They are available in several different sizes, with different pipe spacing and different piping layout patterns of the panels. Thanks to this configuration, it is very easy to install a surface heating/cooling system even on the most geometrically complicated wall surfaces. The inactive wall surfaces can be covered with complementary gypsum fibre panels available in the KAN-therm Wall system range.

A wide and comprehensive line-up of products with the KAN-therm logo enables execution of even the most challenging projects. The complete systems are made of the highest quality materials and available with a 10-year warranty.
